JOSHUA CONKEL is a writer of plays, films, TV shows and books. His short film Curmudgeons (directed by and starring Danny DeVito) was recently seen in film festivals worldwide including the TriBeca Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, Seattle International, and more. Currently, Joshua has been splitting his time between New York and California, as he's a writer on Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the popular children's books by Lemony Snicket.
His plays have been performed all around the world and include The Chalk Boy, MilkMilkLemonade, The Sluts of Sutton Drive, I Wanna Destroy You, The House of Von Macrame, Sprawl, Okay, bye, and The Dum Dums. MilkMilkLemonade, in particular, is something of a cult favorite, having been produced over 100 times in countries all of the world, and is now included in many universities' curriculum. Okay, bye was produced as part of Steppenwolf's First Look Festival in 2014.
He also makes weird little films on super 8, 16mm, or VHS with his one man production company, Bruise Colors.
